Threefold Purpose

(Verse 1) Before the world began to spin A secret hidden deep within The Father’s heart, a plan so grand To reach the lost in every land The first great purpose was to show The Son of God, make His love known To identify with human kind In Christ, the Father’s face we find (Chorus) The threefold purpose of the King The mystery the ages bring To reveal, to live, to restore All that was lost forevermore The threefold purpose stands alone The heart of God made fully known (Verse 2) The second purpose, Spirit’s fire To dwell within and lift us higher Within His Body, His own Bride That He might live and there abide Not in a temple made of stone But in the hearts He calls His own To have preeminence and sway In every believer’s life each day (Chorus) The threefold purpose of the King The mystery the ages bring To reveal, to live, to restore All that was lost forevermore The threefold purpose stands alone The heart of God made fully known (Verse 3) The third great purpose, to reclaim The Kingdom lost by sin and shame To break the curse of Adam’s fall And answer Eden’s sorrowful call To walk again in cool of day With those who hear His voice and pray Restoring all to rightful place In fellowship with endless grace (Chorus) The threefold purpose of the King The mystery the ages bring To reveal, to live, to restore All that was lost forevermore The threefold purpose stands alone The heart of God made fully known
